Beneficial Returns is an impact investment fund designed to support the growth of leading social enterprises in emerging markets. They get social entrepreneurs the long-term debt they need to grow, and offer the opportunity for philanthropists to invest a portion of their foundation endowment and increase the social impact of their undeployed philanthropic dollars while earning a predictable return. They provide loans that enable social enterprises to acquire revenue-producing or cost-reducing equipment in order to increase the scale and pace of their impact.

Our Connection:

Skees Family Foundation began working with Beneficial Returns in 2017. We started focusing a bit more on impact investments so that our non-granted corpus is put to good use. We felt that due to their focus on social enterprises, they would be a good match for us.
